SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

We embed sustainability in every decision we make. We are building a resilient energy ecosystem that not only delivers value today but safeguards the future for generations of Sarawakians.

Get an in-depth look at how PETROS is advancing environmental, social and governance goals for Sarawak and beyond.

TREE PLANTING AT PIASAU NATURE RESERVE

PETROS partnered with the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) to plant over 200 saplings at Piasau Nature Reserve in Miri. This initiative supports habitat restoration, biodiversity, and climate action—reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Led by senior leaders from Human Capital, Resource Management, and HSSE, the collaboration reflects the power of joint efforts in protecting natural ecosystems. The newly planted trees will provide vital habitats and food sources for local wildlife, including the iconic Oriental Pied Hornbill.

SUPPORTING HEART HEALTH IN SARAWAK

Our commitment to the community’s well-being.

PETROS contributed RM300,000 to the Sarawak Heart Foundation to support the purchase of a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine for Sibu Hospital. The new MRI machine will strengthen healthcare access for communities across central Sarawak including Mukah, Sarikei, and Kapit to ensure timely diagnostics for patients in critical need.

Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Sarawak’s Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, who also serves as the Foundation’s Deputy Chairman expressed appreciation, noting the increase of the committed contribution which fully covers the cost of the machine and a portion of the installation and storage fees.

UPHOLDING GOVERNANCE

Over 350 vendors and contractors from 185 companies pledged to uphold ethical business practices at the PETROS Anti-Bribery and Corruption Awareness Training in Miri, held in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

G

Governance

Led by the Compliance and Ethics team, and supported by key leaders from Supply Chain and Compliance, the session reinforced PETROS’ zero-tolerance stance against bribery and corruption. Participants were briefed on the MACC Act and the importance of strong corporate governance in driving transparency and accountability.
